This is a ground level training to equip children + youth ministry volunteers and staff with a basic understanding and knowledge of how and why a child from “a hard place” or with a difficult history may behave differently in a church environment.

We will first work to build empathy and understanding about how past experiences change a child’s brain and how this should change the way we view behavior. Then we will work to shift focus on understanding the reasons behind the behavior.

 Ministry workers/volunteers will not only leave with empathy and understanding – but with several practical ways to connect with a child and meet the underlying need so that behavior change can truly happen while pouring into the children’s deepest need…relationship with Jesus and others!
