Complete this state-required course at your local church.

Parenting for Safety and Permanency Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting (PS-MAPP) training is required for individuals and families pursuing a foster care or adoption license/certificate.

This is a 10-week class is applicable and necessary for all Arizona agencies. Regardless of which agency you select, you have the choice of where you complete this training.

Arizona mandates the following steps to be completed by the start of your first PS-MAPP class:
1. Select an agency and call them to schedule an intake interview
2. Complete your application/intake interview with your agency
3. Submit needed fingerprint information to your agency
4. Inform your agency that you will be taking PS-MAPP with: ARIZONA FOSTER CARE INITIATIVES if you live in Maricopa County

This class does not commit you to becoming a foster or adoptive parent; it is designed to help you process and carefully consider the best route for you and your family.
